About Izi

As you probably know, Izi is a ballerina, and has been for a decade now.

When she was just five years old, her parents asked her if she would like to start ballet. Izi thought about it for a while, then simply said 'no.' A few weeks later, she thought about it again, this time, she said that she would try it out, just for a while.

At the time, they were living in a small town in central NSW, Australia. It was a sixty kilometre journey to the larger town, where Izi would be taking ballet classes. Despite this time consuming journey, her parents thought that this would be a good idea, so they took her in for a class once a week.

After Izi's first ballet class, she decided that she loved the art, and was going to keep on going with it. At the end of her first year of ballet (pre-primary) her parents asked her if she would like to continue with ballet. She said 'yes,' and so it was.

Izi danced at that particular school for seven years. She did exams, and got distinctions for every one of them! She also tried out many different type of dance, including Jazz, Modern, Character, Free Movement and Demi.

At the end of the seventh year, she moved to a ballet school in the smaller town where they were living. This cut down the travel time to and from classes a great deal. She was also now having private ballet lessons, as apposed to being in a class with at least six or seven other girls.

Izi danced at this ballet school for just over two years. During the second year at the school, she got a job helping the head ballet teacher with the Primary and Grade One classes.

At the beginning of this year, Izi's Dad got a new job in a city in Victoria, Australia. This meant that the family had to move, and Izi was pulled out of her old ballet school. However, she is now happily dancing at a much bigger school in their new city.

Izi has just finished her tenth year of dance. She took her RAD Intermediate Ballet Examination in October this year, and recently recieved good results. If you would like to learn more about this ballerina, please follow her Blog.
